Hello

Writing an intro for yourself is a most difficult task, talking about clay is so much easier, so lets focus on my clay life. A relative late comer, following a brush with cancer, I decided to finally pursue a dream to learn to throw. I had taken a handbuilding course in about 1997, but shortly moved & sadly did not return to clay until I was in my 50's ! The first throwing class was in Cambridge and I was truly hooked. I found I could leave my stressful job behind for a few hours and be immersed in mud. Its a joy I still experience every time I throw and a true passion.

My Pottery World

After a life time of working in recruitment and during Covid, I was offered the opportunity to take over a very small pottery class, and I jumped for joy. I made the decision to give up my career and pursue all things clay.

I started with just one class and that grew into two classes and that grew into four classes. I then took a bigger leap and set up on my own and now have a wonderful set of students from all walks of life and I get to share my passion with them. In between classes I make tableware and have discovered alternative firing processes.

I work with mainly Porcelain and Stoneware and everyday is still a learning day with clay. If you would like to know more about classes please feel free to contact me, I do keep the numbers low in each class as I want to be able to provide as much tuition as possible. The events page will keep you up to date on places I am exhibiting or selling work.

Above all if you have ever been curious about Pottery find a local class and sign up you truly will not regret it.
